About The Founders Club

The Founders Club facilitates 1) angel investments into early stage technology companies, 2) liquidity and primary investments into later stage technology companies typically with $25m+ revenues or $50m+ enterprise valuations and 3) equity exchange funds for venture backed entrepreneurs.

Distributions from our equity exchange funds are made every time there is a liquidity opportunity for one of our portfolio companies.  80% of the distribution goes to limited partners and 20% of the distribution goes to the general partner.

Liquidity, Diversification & Network for Entrepreneurs & Investors

The Founders Club facilitates direct secondary investments and primary investments in later stage technology companies with over $25m in revenues or $50m enterprise valuations both buying shares from founders and early investors for cash providing liquidity as well as simply investing in the primary investment rounds of these companies typically co-investing with tier I VCs. Target companies are typically within one to three years of an exit. These investments are made via Windfall Capital with a core team of 5 venture capitalists registered with broker dealer Rainmaker Securities.

The Founders Club directs angel investments via a well established global network of active angel investors and a rapidly growing angel group - Georgetown Alumni Angels. This group comprises many angel investors from the Georgetown University community, but also includes non-Georgetown angel investors and invests in start-ups with or without any affiliation with the university. The objective of Georgetown Alumni Angels is to invest in the best opportunities regardless of affiliation with the university.

The Founders Club also manages an established family of funds where VC backed and non-VC backed entrepreneurs agree to invest a small percentage (typically 1-10%) of their future equity returns into one of The Founders Club funds in return for fund ownership and membership in the club. Joining takes a minimal amount of time and the process is dead simple.

There is no cash cost to join. Members only commit a small percentage of their founder stock or equity. Each fund comprises 15+ high potential venture backed or angel backed portfolio companies, thereby affording any single entrepreneur a strategy to create wealth while accomplishing portfolio diversification. Portfolio companies are selected by committees comprised of Venture Advisors from premier venture capital firms and super angels in the US, Europe and Israel. Entrepreneurs accepted into the club on this basis have access to other members as well as the venture capitalists serving on our Venture Advisory committees. We align the interests of influential CEOs, founders, VCs, angels, family offices and fund of funds which results in bigger exits and a unique form of entrepreneurship.

We are a club. We organize an annual conference around a ski trip and wine tasting trip, periodic demo days featuring members and companies raising funding, online webinars for members that are raising angel or VC funding, private dinners, breakfasts, cocktail networking events and 1:1 meetings based on introductions we make leveraging our network. We access powerful global contact networks, start companies, recruit teams, raise cash and build great ventures.

All applications, company information and participants are strictly confidential. Just like the VCs that invest in our portfolio companies we make a long term commitment to company building.
