We work with investors in three different ways:
1) Via our broker / dealer we broker transactions with institutional investors and high net worth individuals that invest relatively large amounts into our transactions. Institutional investors include family offices, venture capital and private equity funds, hedge funds, corporate VC funds, strategic industrial corporate investors and other institutional investors.
2) Via our "pledge fund" LLC investment structure. We manage a family of Special Purpose Investment Vehicles (SPVs) where we aggregate investment capital from a range of individual and institutional investors into an LLC, and the LLC makes the direct investment into the operating company or buying equity from a shareholder in a direct secondary transaction. Our SPVs are open to accredited investors including high net worth individuals as well as institutional investors. This model provides flexibility for an investor to invest only in the opportunities they like. They can invest in one, many or all of our LLC investments on a deal by deal basis with very efficient management fees. Our network of individual angel investors include some of the most successful entrepreneurs behind many of the most successful technology companies in the US, Europe and Israel. Much like the best VCs, some of these angel investors join the board or advisory board of our operating companies and play a hands on value-added role in the companies we fund.
3) Invest directly into the management company of the equity exchange fund. We have raised funds to capitalize the cost of managing the equity exchange funds. When entrepreneurs invest a portion of their equity there is no cash cost for them to join. This is covered by our investors. Our primary investors include members of the VC entrepreneurial community including Andrew Romans (founder / Windfall Capital / Georgetown Alumni Angels), André Jaeggi (chairman of The Founders Club / Adveq $4.5B fund of funds), Jon Moulton (Better Capital, Alchemy Partners, Apax), Edmund Truell (founder & Director Pension Corporation $9.5B Assets, founder & CEO Duke Street Capital, CEO Hambro European Ventures, chairman British Venture Capital Association), Chris Burke (Warburg Pincus, MD RIM / BlackBerry, CTO Vodafone), Jack Tankersley, Ryan Pollock and Meritage partners (Meritage Funds $600M US VC), Roger Royse, as well as numerous serial entrepreneurs, VCs and lawyers in the USA, UK, France, Germany & Switzerland.
